need to switch app data from dying Charge 3 to replacement Charge 3

My Charge 3 is dying, and its replacement Charge 3 is on its way to me. I don’t want to lose the data I collected with the old Charge 3 when I switch over to the replacement unit. Are there any Do’s or Don’ts I need to follow if I’m not to lose access to my old data? I have my copy of the Fitbit app on an iPad, so I need the iOS-relevant instructions.

Once you do a sync, all the data goes to the main Fitbit database, stored under your account/email so it will not be lost and is all there for any phone or tracker, as long as you log into the same account.

Ideally do a sync just before doing the switch, if your current Charge 3 lasts that long. Or try to do occasional syncs if it might not last.  Then when you get the new Fitbit, be sure you are logged into the same account on your app.  Then start adding the new one just as you added the original one.  It will note you already have one attached and ask if this is a replacement. And just follow the instructions.  When you are done, check the bluetooth settings on your iPad, and unpair the old one if it is still paired.
