I'm having the same problem.....my dashboad say 6823 step and the challenge says 788 steps. This is the 2nd challenge I've tried hoping to get this corrected so I'm not last again:(
I read the post and none of the suggestions apply.

If the creator of your Challenge is in a different timezone, you will see a delay in Challenges since Challenges begin and end in the owner's timezone.
