Ace 2 syncing activity to app

I cannot figure out how to sync Ace 2 exercise to app.  The watch itself shows daily exercise minutes but it does not automatically sync to app.  It doesn't give me options on type of activities to track either.  Being that it is for my child I do not know when he is active or what he is doing when active while at school.  It would be nice to see this be recorded automatically.
