Ace 3 counting extra steps

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My kids got Ace3s for Christmas. We FINALLY got them set up, a month later. But they are getting extra steps. Just sitting still, their Watches are clocking extra steps. And it’s not syncing with the app. The app says one thing and the watch says something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Hi @LongtimeWearer. Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for sharing the details regarding the inconvenience with Ace 3.

Please restart the Ace as described in this help article.

It's important to specify whether you wear the device on your dominant or non-dominant wrist during setup:

  • The dominant wrist setting decreases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any over counting of steps when your body is not moving. Your dominant hand is the one you use for writing and eating.
  • The non-dominant wrist setting increases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any under counting of steps.

To start, the Wrist setting is set to non-dominant. Change your wrist setting in the Fitbit app.
