Ace 3 stops syncing again and again

I am so running out of patience now. I’ve had Fitbit’s for years and this one really is the most frustrating of them all. My son had an ace 3 for his 8th birthday. Seems the ideal device. Set up family account etc and synced to his android phone. Moto g8 power. First time was ok it just worked. But ever since then it’s been a constant battle to sync his steps to his phone. It just stops working and will never fix. Combination of turning off device, phone, removing Bluetooth device etc and a mix of all those basic troubleshooting and you end up removing the device to re add again. But it constantly fails. You get the pairing code but it says “sorry, the setup is taking longer than usual”. And I can try this again and again and it will work eventually but stop further down the line. This is simply unusable and not fit for purpose. Can somebody help asap please?
