Cannot create child account for 14 year old

Trying to create an account for my son who is above 13 years of age. The fitbit app allows me to select a date of birth only after 27 Sept 2010 for creating a child account. That means by Fitbit's own definition child account is only for under 13 year olds (and my son has crossed this age). Chatted with fitbit support and they dont have a solution.

@ZubairNaseer   Where do you live?  You son should be old enough to have a standard account with his own email address.  Some countries have internet privacy laws that say a child must be 16 or older for a standard account.  Is your son on a Google Family Link account?

Yes he is old enough to have a standard account, and that is the problem that I have reported. Fitbit is not allowing creation of a standard account.

@ZubairNaseer   Sorry for not getting back sooner.  Your screenshot is the same one I see in the Family Account set up, the one for younger children who are limited to the Ace series.  You wrote that you are can't create a standard account for him.  A Google account is required for new accounts.  What happens when you try to set up a Google account for your son?  Do you have a Google Family Link?  You son can't be on a Family Link.  That sets off the internet privacy settings that keep you from setting up an account.
