Creating Family Account won’t load

Hello,

My daughter received an Ace3 for Christmas and every time I try to set up a family account I get the below loading message. I’ve tried multiple times over the last 24hrs and updated my app. Any advice please as my daughter is desperate to wear her Fitbit. Thank you.

Ours have been doing the same too, it’s really frustrating, I can’t see how to set up a family account via a desktop version too.

I was FINALLY able to get this thing to work!! What seems to work for others did not work for me, and likewise this may not fix anyone else, but considering I spent 1.5 hours trying to make this work I wanted to share.

I have an iPhone 13 and an existing Fitbit account. I found that the absolute first step was that I had to migrate my Fitbit account to Google.

Next, while I already had a gmail account for my child that was part of the Google Family Account, I had to create a new one. This is what I was stuck on the longest and it was maddening. Prior to creating new child account I was stuck in a loop because the Fitbit app will not allow old supervised accounts to access the app. Creating new child account through the Family Account link previously shared on the forum, or even trying to create a new account through the Family Account site failed with errors. I ended up going to the main Google page, navigating to gmail and creating new account this way. During creation I was prompted to join it to my Family Account as it recognized this as a child account (due to birthdate) and I was still signed in.

Then, ensuring I was logged completely out of the Fitbit app, I logged in with the new child account. Immediately it prompted for an adult and I created a Fitbit account for my child after verifying by putting in my own Google account creds. Only then FINALLY was I able to add the Ace 3 to the account while logged in as my child.

You can only be logged in as either the child OR the adult but that isn’t a hardship.

In all of this my Fitbit Versa 3 somehow got disconnected but it was easy to add my device back onto my adult account.

I purchased the Ace 3 second hand because my child is 7 and he just wanted a cool tracker like mom. It was priced very cheap, and now I know why!! No returning for me since it was second hand so I kept trying. Absolutely frustrating and not totally sure this was worth it honestly, but it works.

Finally got my childs ace to work after hours and hours of trying.

This is what you have to do in order to get kids aces paired to devices now.

- Create an email address for the parent that you haven't used with fitbit's "sign in with google" (I use proton mail as its free and doesn't need phone number verification)-

- Go to fitbit.com/signup and create a parent account with the email address from above. (perferably do this on a web browser so it doesnt jump to the app and try and merge with google)

- Do not agree to merge with google throughtout any steps.

- On the device you want to pair the ace to, use to fitbit account that was just created. Again once signing in do not agree to merge with google.

- Once signed into the app go to 'You' and then family. Now you can create a child account and pair the ace to the device.

If you create a fitbit account on the website as a child it will not let you set up a family account, this must be done by an adult fitbit account.

When I go to fitbit.com/signup it only lets me login with an existing account, or else click the button to start a new account using Google. This is on my Android, my wife's iPhone and my PC - How did you get past this? thanks in advance
