Disable Ace 3 text notifications!!!

How do I disable text notifications on my son’s Ace 3??? The instructions say to pinch sides to go to quick menu, then go to notifications to turn off, but there is no “notifications” when we pinch the sides. It only displays water lock, DND, and sleep. I don’t want my son reading all my texts!?!?
