Does the Ace receive notifications?

On my Fitbit ace it doesn't notify me if I get a call or message. I want to get messages and calls on my Fitbit Ace. I think I can recall one time I got a message on my Fitbit Ace but that was a while back and might have been one of my other Fitbits from when I was younger. I was just wondering if it's supposed to recover calls and messages or not.
