The instructions that come with the Fitbit Ace 3 are useless. The process to set up a family account is not even remotely close to what is stated in the instructions. You need 2 different apps, and you child needs a google account (goodbye privacy) to set up the Ace 3. I have contacted customer support and they were less than helpful. They just said this is the "new process" and there is no way to do it using the instructions that came with the device. Can someone explain why it does not work as the instructions state it should?

I agree - I contacted Support only to be told that I was "confused" after I followed all the directions given. I was also told that I need a minimum of two phones or tablets to create an child account to add the Ace 3. The Ace 3 should be usable WITHOUT an app at all, let alone a paired device. About 1 day away from telling my child that Santa's elves are short-staffed or flying on a kite.

@Jonnymac1q3 no I ended up returning the Ace 3 to Amazon. Not how I choose to spend hours and hours of my Christmas vacation, trying to make something work that's been a known issue since June 2023.
You need the Google Family Link app, create a new child account... But then if you have an Android phone, you can't log out of your parent account to sign into FitBit as a child, because Google security won't allow multiple accounts per device. I will not buy my child a smartphone so he can also use a step counter watch.
