Fitbit Ace battery draining fast

Hi. My Fitbit ace battery will only last a day and a half if we are lucky. It goes on charge all night. A day and half later it’s dead and needs re charging. I’ve turned off auto sync there are no alarms sets. I’ve cleaned the back in case there is dirt in it. I’ve also tried different USB ports. Any ideas? It’s still in its warranty we brought it from Argos as a Xmas present.

Hiya,

My daughter got her Fit Bit Ace from Argos as a birthday present this month. Her best friend has a Fit Bit Ace and only has to charge it every 5 days.

Since the very beginning we are only getting about 48 hours out of it, before it needs to be charged again. There was a full battery at 9am on Thursday morning, needed to be charged again on Saturday and again on Monday and so on.

I have been following the forum over the last week and see that a number of people have similar issues and that there are a number of work arounds.

So we have tried the following:

* Turn off Auto Sync - It’s Turned off already

* No Alarms Set

* Cleaned the back in case there was Dirt in it

* Tried different USB Ports

* Cleaned the pins and lined up exactly to create a strong connection between the device and the charger

It is very disappointing that this should be happening and my daughter is definitely not at all impressed.

Obviously the product is within warranty as we bought it this month, March. So can you tell me what’s the next step?

Thanks for your help

@Emmaandtom1 It should definitely last longer than that. Have you tried restarting it?  Also, the charging cable can be a little sensitive - are you sure it is getting fully charged?

To restart: Press the button on the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into the computer. 8 seconds after the first button press, the logo appears on the tracker's display.

Best way I got mine to work was plugging into a computer each night. It
sucks but it's the only way I've found to work.

@sarahscooby Welcome aboard to our forums! I'm sorry for the late response. However, I'm sorry to hear that your daughter's Ace is not holding its charge as long as it should.

Please try cleaning the contacts of the Ace and the charger with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol in order to remove any dust that the contacts accumulate. Finally, charge the Ace for 2-3 hours and see if the battery lasts longer.

@Alicia84 I would like to follow up on the battery issues that your Ace is experiencing. Please monitor your tracker for 24 hours and let me know if the issue persists.

See you guys later! Smiley Happy

I've found plugging into my computer has helped a lot. The batty will hold
a charge longer.

Otherwise take it back and get something better.

Same battery problem here. Battery goes from full to low in 45 min with no usage. Tried reset, turning off all settings in app, same problem persists. How can I get a replacement?

That is exactly the issue my daughters Fitbit is having.  Customer service said.  Battery life is up to 5 days.  48 hours is adequate battery life.  So disappointed.  Avoid Fitbit ace like the plague.

We are having the same problem. My son received an Ace 2 for Christmas. We charge it fully overnight (battery registers at 100%) and by dinner (less than 24hrs later) it is dead. We have turned off continuous sync and alarms with no results. Very disappointed as we are long-time Fitbit users with many Fitbit products we love.

We just bought my daughter an Ace Fitbit for her birthday in July and are having the same battery issues. It will charge all night and then only last for a couple of hours. We have tried all of the above trouble shooting and still the battery life is poor.
