How do I connect a new Ace 3 Fitbit with a phone if it is already connected to my fitbit?

Hello, I hope someone can help.

I have had a fitbit for a few years. This is connected to my phone with no problems.  I recently got a new phone and have connected the fitbit to the new phone but it is still connected to my old phone too.

My daughter has got an Ace 3 Fitbit and I want to connect this to my old phone. I have no idea how to do this. She is not registered with Fitbit and doesn't have her own phone (although I am happy for her to use the spare phone to connect to her fitbit).

I hope this makes sense. If anyone could help that would be great.

Thanks Mark

Hi @RhinoMark Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Let me help you with the Setup of your Ace 3.

First, i need to point out that you may sync your Fitbit device with any compatible device once you log into your Fitbit account from the device in question.

You can consider your compatible mobile device simply as a tool to sync your Fitbit data to your account. So, it's an expected behavior to see your Fitbt device connected to your account no matter which device you are using. You may learn more about this topic by visiting our help article How do Fitbit devices sync their data?

If you'd like to give one phone to your daughter to sync her new Ace 3, you can follow the instructions in our help article How do I set up Fitbit Ace devices? below the section "I'm setting up a kids tracker for the first time". However, if you haven't used the Family option in the Fitbit app yet, you will need to follow the instructions below first:

  • Connect your child's Ace device to the charger before you begin the setup process.
  • Open Fitbit app from your old mobile
  • Tap Sign in with Google. Your child signs in with their Google Account. If your child doesn't have a Google Account, tap Sign in Create your account For my child, and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • When prompted, review the information about managing a child account.
  • Tap Agree and continue, and enter the password for your Google Account.
  • Add a Fitbit profile for your child.
  • Tap Next.Your child can log in to their Fitbit profile.
  • Tap Add device, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair Ace to the account.

I hope these instructions will be helpful for you!

Hi David - I’m so frustrated with something that should be such an easy set up.

i have tried logging in both under my google account and under my sons google account to set up the Fitbit ace 3. The “add child” button is not clickable on either set ups. I’m at a loss and about to return the thing. This should not be this hard.

Tried to set up but the Fitbit itself will not do anything. Received Error code
