Through Google I ended up on fitbitstore.us which I thought was the actual fitbit site. I ordered 2 fitbit ace 2s, but became suspicious when I didn't get a confirmation and then couldn't create an account on site. They did charge me through paypal which listed the items (but uses a personal gmail account with a Chinese name). But have otherwise no idea if the order is being processed. This was 3 days ago and I am trying to figure out if I ended up getting scammed and should begin the process of contesting charge.

No, total scam. They got me too! I never received any shipment information, then realized PayPal payment was sent to a gmail address. Reversed email search that gmail said didn’t exist. Then did another internet search that came back completely in a foreign language. I contacted Pay pal to investigate claim. PayPal emailed merchant who responded item was shipped and provided a tracking number. When I went to the UPS website tracking # came up as delivered left at door. Never got the item and I am out $105. It was the same fitbitactivity.us which longer exists. I emailed the gmail account and said I would be posting this info everywhere so no one else got ripped off. Pay pal consider claim closed as I supposedly received the item. Total bs!

They got me too and PayPal is being no help since they provided a crap tracking number which UPS says is not even associated with my address, just someone else in my city.
The website that was linked in my "confirmation" email is fitbitversa.us and the email address is info@fitbitversa.us. Both are conveniently out of order now of course.
The email address associated with the Paypal account is sippelmarlene865@gmail.com. Guess I'm out $140 unless I can get PayPal to step up.

I still say one of you scam victims ought to get with your local media outlets and tell your story. Imagine the tv and print news people are searching for something to report other than the virus, masks and social distancing. This is happening to more than those of you wanting to purchase a Fitbit. It's all over the internet and the scammers are making money. If any of you are able to make this more public, it might help someone in the future.
Today in my area, people are being advised not to fall for the social security scam and the expired car warranty scam. It's a scammers market out there.

It happened to me 8-8-2020. They must put the site up for a few days, scam enough people and then close it back down. It was exactly like everybody else's experience. Thought I was at the real Fitbit website but I wasn't. When I went back to the confirmation email just a bunch of broken links and fake email addresses. I opened dispute with paypal scammer sent Paypal tracking info. Called UPS and they confirmed the tracking number that was sent was not sent to my address but could not tell me what address it was sent to. I have an open dispute with Paypal now. The email address shows stacicastillo@gmail.com. It also states contact us at info@fitbitactivity.us which is a bad email.

I eventually got a successful resolution from PayPal as well. One thing that helped: I have an account with UPS, so I was able to see the phone number for the sender of the package that the scammer claimed was my FitBit device. I called that number and was able to get the true destination from the sender -- not me, but it was to an address in my ZIP code.
The PayPal resolution process is frustratingly slow, but if you are patient, polite and diligent you will have success. The representative I chatted with thanked me for helping to remove a scammer from their platform. Lot of good that does since they just pop back up like Whack a Mole....

They got me too. Thought it was a branch of the real Fitbit store. Really wanted the Bordeaux/copper rose Versa 2. When Paypal posted it as "snowmobile" I got more than a little concerned. Of course they say to wait for receipt of item due to virus. It has been 2 weeks. Filed with Paypal this morning. I hope they can fix it. Now I have no money and no Fitbit and won't be able to get one. I am such an idiot.

Everyone who hasn't been refunded needs to reopen with PayPal chat, attach this threat to the dispute. If they provided a fake tracking tell paypal you called UPS and they won't give you information. The paypal agent will then ask your address and a supervisor will call UPS just to verify it didn't go to your listed address (you have to tell them you tried UPS before they will initiate the call. After this you WILL be refunded. There is hope if you push, I was told I wouldn't get a refund and I took that as a challenge and was eventually refunded my $140.

The best variant that I see is to address directly to the source and explain all in detail. Indeed, there are many cases when you can make some faults and act illegally. Indeed, my husband met with fraud because of an unverified application, and his money was debited from the account. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the source to understand who took them and where. But, after this case, we find on the internet the definite guide to avoiding phone scams on https://www.bustathief.com/phone-scam-telephone-fraud/ . So, henceforth we will be vigilant and not get caught.

Hi @LCôté which person are you asking? The original poster was May 2020 and many more people posted after that time.

@LCôté the OP posted 5-22-20 that they kept at it and got their money back. They listed all the steps taken to get to that point. Whatever happened to you, I hope you are able to prevail and get your money back.
