Logging exercise on Ace 2 is duplicating step count

Hello!  My kiddo and I went on a walk. Her new Ace 2 recorded the steps but didn't automatically track the exercise. We now know that Ace 2 will not auto track.

So, I added the exercise. But it added steps with the new exercise. So now she has double the count of steps??

I tried on my Alta and it did the same thing (although my Alta auto detected the walk).

Seriously what could I be doing wrong?  This is so simple.  I'm losing my mind?!?

She wants her steps counted and her exercise counted.

Thanks in advance!!!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @ChaCha_Phx.

Thanks for the details shared in your post. I understand how you are feeling and would like to confirm that SmartTrack isn't available on Fitbit kids devices. Manually logged activities should override the tracker's data for the duration of the logged exercise. I recommend confirming that the start time and duration of the exercise you entered are correct. Please also make sure to sync the tracker after logging the exercise:

You can find more information about the Ace 2 in this manual.

Hope this helps.
