Logging exercise on the Ace 3

Is is possible to log activity automatically on the ace 3? The marketing shows an exercise app (showing running and swimming) but we can’t find this on the watch.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Balln. Thanks for sharing your Ace 3 activity logging inquiry.

The SmartTrack feature isn't available on Fitbit kids devices. You can add this idea to our Suggestions.

Keep on visiting the forums.

Hi Andrea - I have the same issue. Your marketing material suggests that using the exercise app is possible, as well as the relax app. It's even in the "How to use Fitbit Ace 3" section of the Fitbit phone app. I have screen grabs of this but can't upload them here. If we had known this feature wasn't available as suggested we would have bought a different watch. I sincerely hope this is a feature you're planning to add but just haven't done so yet.

Please advise how to resolve this issue, or at the very least your timelines for getting this feature added. Thanks.

I agree!  I just set it up for my daughter and we are pretty disappointed since it was in all the set up items, including the guidebook.  @AndreaFitbit When will the exercise options be available?

Still hoping for a response to this @AndreaFitbit

We just purchased a Fitbit for my son and we feel like the advertisement was misleading and even the setup has pictures of the exercise app. Please let us know if this is changing anytime soon.

Hello, we purchased the same watch in June 2022, a year after this post, and are having the same problem. The tracker doesn't track my daughter on her bike. The how to guide on the Fitbit app still says it tracks exercise.  Has this issue been addressed? It is really confusing that this is prompted in the How to guide but not available.

The answer by Fitbit in other similar posts is that the guide is wrong but this was never fixed.

For reference this is a picture from the guide showing the exercise made:

Thanks Rufusb44, I totally feel that my daughter's watch was mis-sold adding to it is the fact that the sleep mode continuously crashes. I'm definitely am going to return the watch after 6 months of headaches

Really? Then perhaps you shouldn’t advertise features for 1.5+ years, that likely motivate people to buy your products for their children, without implementing them.

We were so excited for those features and our daughter felt stupid when she couldn’t figure out to how to start her exercise active when we went for a family hike yesterday.

I don’t care if your products don’t work as advertised for adults, but shame on you for misleading consumers when it comes to kids.

I want also to add that the answer marked as Best Answer is even wrong as here we are not even speaking/asking for smartTrack rather being able to start the session manually. The feature is available in the Inspire 2 (that is the base of Ace 3) and i can't think even a reason of child protection law why the feature has been removed.

Hi there @Dopovo it's good to see you back.

Because this is a public forum, other users experiencing this situation could have found that post helpful enough to mark it as the best answer. I appreciate your feedback regarding this, and remember you can support by voting for this idea in the Feature Suggestion board.

Have a nice day.

So @LucioFitbit you're inviting users to vote for a suggestion that invites to go to another suggestion closed as non planned since February 2019? Can you please give me an example of a suggestion that has been implemented after being closed as not planned? You know, just asking out of curiosity.

I've just checked and the in-app manual still shows the Exercise animation as reported by @Rufous44 . Is it possible that Fitbit is still ignoring such misinformation?

I’m incredibly frustrated that this is an issue!! And it’s been a known issue for more than two years and it’s still not fixed. I bought my daughter an Ace 3 for her birthday and we are very disappointed that this feature doesn’t work. I tried to add exercise manually in the app but that doesn’t even work properly. She can use the stopwatch to track her time but if that’s it I could have bought her a much cheaper digital watch. If I had known this I would have bought another watch. Very disappointed Fitbit.

FITBIT it looks like you have mislead people for the last couple of years. Your marketing, your guide shows being able to select activity is possible. I have just bought 2 of these watches and am not happy that these features are not available. I have two upset children and a couple of annoyed parents.
we had looked at other watch options but my boys liked the design and one wanted the minion’s edition.
When will this feature be added?

Why haven't you corrected your deceitful documentation?

We were very disappointed too that neither notifications nor tracking works on Ace 3.

We even double-checked the documentation in the app and it confirmed that tracking should work - but you're deliberately deceiving kids showing the fake features 😞 - why?
