Hi, Ok so just set my sons fitbit Ace 3 up, ive tested the messaging notifications and seems to be working in the house.. When I go further afield its not working, is it true that the device has to be within about 30ft of the Phone? surely if the fit bit was that close to the fone then I wouldnt need to message I could just shout.. Bit disappointed if that is the case.

Absolutely right, Ace (or any other Fitbit) doesn't have any possibility to connect other than with the paired phone.

I get that and I’ve paired it with my sons phone but it seems a bit silly if he has to be practically in the same room as me to get the notification.. I was hoping to be able to send him a message when he’s on school etc .. Hhmmppf think it’s gonna get sent back .. Thank you though

I missed that your son is using his own phone. In such case I agree he should receive the notifications.

I suggest to contact support to sort it out.
