Syncing Fitbit ace

Anyone have an suggestion on how I sync my child’s Fitbit ace to my iphone? So far I’ve been able to set up a family account and get as far as the syncing part and that’s it. It just keeps searching for it. Everything is fine with the device, it’s charged, no other trackers close by, and I’ve switched off my Bluetooth and back in again, still nothing.
