Shocked that the set up for a fitbit for teens is still not possible.
Only the "baby" version (Ace?), which my 11 year old rejected. And then when my child turned 13, we tried to set it up, and it is not possible, unless you 100% stop supervision.

Hi @AngryParent2. It's my understanding that you can add the supervision back a day or two after setting up the Fitbit.

apparently, that disconnects the fitbit again, so no solution - this is from another chain. a basic pedometer would be better.
You can take supervision off, and that will allow you to set up the device, but once you re-apply supervision, they will lose the ability to log into the FitBit app, which means that they can't sync it anymore (and it will slowly lose time).
In short, it's not a fix. It will let you get the device set up once, but you can't continue to use it as advertised."

@AngryParent2 I'm flagging your post to get a moderator's input. This needs a higher level answer.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @AngryParent2. I moved your thread to the Ace & Family Accounts board in order to keep our community organized. I'm sorry to hear about your Fitbit Ace experience and will be happy to assist.
Fitbit Ace devices are meant for kids and Fitbit has created a way to collect parental consent. Purchasing a Fitbit device for kids and creating a family account is the only way customers can set up a device for their child. Through the Family Account setting in the Fitbit app, customers can create a special Fitbit account (known as a child account) for their child, control who they connect with in the Fitbit app, and see how active they are each day.
For privacy reasons and to protect children and their personal data, Fitbit requires all registered users to be at least 13 years old. Customers in the EU may have different minimum age guidelines depending on their country. You can check the permitted ages for adult devices for the different countries here.
Were you able to set up the Ace device initially? Are you trying to set it up again?
Thank you for the heads up @LZeeW.

Thanks for getting back to us and for your feedback @AngryParent2. I'll be glad to continue assisting you.
In Australia, the minimum age to independently manage a Google Account is 13 years old.
When a child in Australia turns 13, they can choose to manage their Google Account independently, or they can continue to have it supervised by their parent.
