My ALTA HR also died today. I reset by plugging into charger and repeatedly pressing the button on the base of the charger cable. That gave me a display of a battery with exclamation point inside. Apparently this indicates the recent update didn’t complete. I went into Fitbit app and it prompted me to Sync which seemed to complete the update. My ALTA HR is charging now and my display works like normal. We’ll see how long it keeps working. According to others on the forum it may not last long....

Update.... 3 days after the reboot from the charging cord worked it has died again. Waiting for resolution suggestions from Fitbit support. Thinking about switching to Garmin.
