Alta HR display flickering

What does it mean when your screen flickers? Is my Alta HR on the way out? It’s not that old and happens when fully charged.

If your tracker's display is flickering, I recommend restarting it by following the instructions provided in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.

Mine was doing the same thing and then died completely.  Tried restarting it and it worked but is continuing to flicker. Not sure how long it will last this time.

I had my Alta HR for 2 years as of last February and it started flickering today (Aug 11, 2020).  😢  I think I may have gotten it wet yesterday when I washed my hands and arms even though I tried not to get it wet and thought I dried it really well but the temperature has been in the mid 90sF with very high humidity. 

The battery was half full when I noticed it flickering today and when I got home tonight the screen wouldn't come on at all.  I connected the charger and it made no difference. The screen is black and won't reboot.  It looked like moisture was behind the clear plastic film sensor that touches my wrist so after blowing with a hair dryer I put it in a bag of rice and I'm hoping that fixes it.  I've never had it off except to charge the battery ever since I bought it and I mainly use it to track sleep (and tell time) so I really hope the rice fixes it.

This sounds exactly like my situation! I noticed that the screen of my Alta Hr was blank yesterday evening. It's been very hot and humid here as well for the last week or so and I've been washing my hands regularly as well. 

I can see the screen light up very very faintly when I'm in a pitch black room and the device is still working, so I'm also guessing there is some moisture under the plastic top layer. The device is still working, because I can see data being synced. The display is just not working properly.

Let me know if the rice fixes it!

Mine started doing this today.  It is either scrolling through displays or shutting off. Any of you get yours corrected?  I tried resetting Alta, reinstalling app, unpairing and repairing. I am thinking the fact that they discontinued this line and just updated their software/fitmware is probably the source of our issues. 😞
