Alta HR no longer syncs

My Alta HR was not synching. So, after a search thru the forums, I found the info on turning off the bluetooth (did that several times), restarting the fitbit (several times), logging out of the app (done), and restarting my phone (twice).  

It will recognize an Alta HR nearby. I can get the code and type it in. But when it tries to pair I get a "Not Working" message.  There are no other fitbit nearby, and nothing that is actively using bluetooth tech.  The blasted thing will JUST NOT PAIR. 

 

I'm getting really frustrated with this.  It started, or seems to have done so, with my last phone update a couple days ago. (I have a Google Pixel 3 XL).  

 

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
