Alta HR not working properly

This device repeatedly flashes information (date, time, stats) and won't stop. Also the date and time are wrong. When I try to sync it, I get the message that the Alta failed to sync. I tried turning Bluetooth off and on which doesn't work. When I plug it in, it indicates there is still battery life but won't stop repeating and flashing the stats so is using up battery fast. Anyone know how to make this stop?  Any advice is appreciated

It sounds like it's on it's last legs.  That's exactly what happened to my Flex 1 before it died.
