I just got my Alta HR as a gift and don't have the receipt. It was brand new in the box so not like it has been used for years. I charged it and it showed fully charged. Sync to phone, take it off the wear it and nothing. Now shows battery is dead. Out back on charger, had to wait a min then tap on screen shows charging. Allows me to slide through screens. Shows full try again to take it off. Nothing. Tried the reset I have seen and removing from my phone. Still not working. Did I just get a bad one or is there anything that I can do?

Hi @Kat3318 ask the person who gifted you the Alta HR where they got it. It was retired over three years ago and no longer being manufactured. Have you tried restarting the Fitbit itself using the charger?

@Kat3318 that would be great. Only an authorized retailer carries a warranty, so it's always good to know where it came from. Online shopping is what many of us do.

I have an Alta and an Alta HR. They both do the same thing...look fully charged and work when connected to the charger, but the moment they are taken off, they go black and no longer do their job. I am disappointed as I loved the size of these and spent a lot of money on them, back up chargers, and extra bands. I may have to look into something different. 😞
