Alta display freezes

My fitbit Alta works great until I take it off to get in the shower, then the only way to wake it up again is by putting it on the charger.  It doesn’t need charged, just needs the wake up.  It doesn’t do it every time, but it does it a fair amount. 

 

It’s just frustrating.  Usually I am getting ready for work and don’t have time to get it on the charger to wake it up and wear it to record my steps.  So I either have to leave it at home or wear it in the hopes it might wake up, but it never does.  I tap it till my finger hurts, tap on the wrist band like it was suggested in the help forum and try repeatedly with no response.  Is there anything I can do to solve this issue?

I understand how are you feeling and appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this display issue. Have you tried to restart your device? If you haven't, I recommend trying this by following the steps in the article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.
