hello, My wife has an alta that stopped charging so I investigated and metered out the pins with a volt meter on the charger while it was plugged into my computer. It showed a reading of 2.99 volts D.C.
I checked my fitbit charger and it has a reading of 5.00 volts D.C.
I decided to eliminate the USB( type 2) end of my wifes charger( it has a button on it) by cutting off that end and soldering on another USB( type 2) that I had metered out and delivered the required 5 volts.
Glad to report that this has solved the recharging issue with my wifes Alta. I have tried to post images of the before and after but I do not have the required permission.
hope this helps.
