Alta won’t display steps

After wearing the device throughout the day, it will continue to show 0 steps and 0 active minutes. I cannot sync the fitbit to my phone until much later but when I do the correct data comes up and the fitbit will display it. Any advice? I need to be able to see my steps/exercise without syncing it.

I cannot get my Fitbit to display steps on my iPhone ? What do I need to do to restore this?

@Kace1 Please do the below:

restart your Fitbit & restart your phone

below are the instructions on restarting the Alta:

1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.
3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

@Drmindy  Are you able to sync at all? 
Sounds like your phone is not syncing properly. 
please make sure you have the most updated Fitbit app and your Fitbit is paired to your phone. 
If yes, please restart your Fitbit and resync and see if that helps.

Restarted phone and Alta HR 3x and steps and calories, miles on alta only did not show on phone Android until 4th restart. Sleep data is showing basic only. Are you pulling an apple move and making are devices obsolete?
