Delay in registering exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an Alta and the app is on a massive delay when registering exercise. It even impacts when I manually log exercise, such as when I’m doing martial arts. (I don’t wear my Alta when I’m training for safety reasons). It’s just started in the last day or so.

Is there something that I can do to fix this problem? Or is it a problem with the app?

I have an Alta, though that doesn’t feature as prominently in this problem as you might think. The app is having a problem registering that I’ve exercised, to the point where the data (i.e. active minutes and calories burned) don’t show up until two to four hours after the fact. I noticed it in the last two days, especially when I went to manually log martial arts training as exercise (since I don’t wear my Alta when I train, for safety reasons).

Is this an Alta thing or an app thing?

Note: I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, as well as closing the app, turning my phones’s Bluetooth setting off and on, and reopening the app. This is very frustrating!

Sarah,

We see the same behaviour with my Versa and my wife's Charge so I think that it is an app issue.

App developers: does the exercise registration happen offline? That would explain the delay.

Hello @Sarah_Gunther and @jaysinha

I see you have tried the typical troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue but I didn’t see where you restarted your Fitbit Device. I’d definitely give that a try….it certainly wouldn’t hurt. Look here to find out how to properly restart your particular Fitbit and see if that helps: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm

Let me know if that helps. 😃 Happy stepping!
