My Fitbit Alta HR suddenly and randomly dropped the tracking for my heartrate.  I tried to add it back but with no luck.

Hi @Ksfit7, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post. First, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors of your device are still flashing? Also, if you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why don't I see my heart rate on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

I tried resetting my Fitbit Alta HR and checking on the app to be sure the heart rate was on auto. It didn’t help. I can see my heart rate on my Fitbit but it doesn’t register on the app, only my resting heart rate shows up.

Your update is appreciated @Ksfit7, sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for the clarification that was shared in your post, I thought that your Fitbit device wasn't tracking heart rate data but this is a syncing issue. Therefore, can you please let me know which mobile device are you using to check the Fitbit app? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then?  If you haven't already done so, please try the following steps:

Force quit the Fitbit app.
Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
Make sure that the OS version of your phone is up to date.
Reboot your mobile device.
Reinstall the Fitbit app.
Login using your account credentials.

Keep me posted.
