You could simply go for a walk and let Fitbit decide that your walking?
Is it really doubling steps or adding extra steps? This happens when the stride is set incorrectly.
Thanks

If you are walking with you Fitbit on, your Fitbit should detect that your walking and record the time as walking.
If you want to manually tell Fitbit the distance, and want the correct steps, you will need to set the stride
