Explanation Mark (!) on screen

I've not used my Fitbit Alta in a couple of years, but today I've decided to charge it up and stat to use it again.

When I've come to charge it, I'm getting an explanation mark ( ! ) on the screen. I've tried to charge it a number of different ways, but its still not charging.

I'm guessing the explanation mark is indicating an error, but I've searched the forums and can't find the answer.

Any help / guidance / feedback would be appreciated.

Same issue. Called Support Thursday afternoon, “Leo” told me someone will contact me via email, haven’t heard from Fitbit yet...

I can charge finally however, my battery just goes dead within hours.
