Fitbit Alta not responding

I have my Alta for a couple of years now. last week stopped working. When i have it connected with the charger is ok but when i disconnected stops to respond.I conect it with my computer and start but only for as long as i have it connected. Iidon't have the charger with the botton and i dont know wthat else to do.

Looks like I’m not the only one experiencing this. I too am only access my Fitbit while plugged in. It will show that it is charged, but shuts off as soon as it is unplugged. I’d appreciate being contacted to solve this please.

My alta is also doing this. It's fine when connected to the charger but as soon as it's off the charger the screen won't turn on. I can get it to sync, change settings, etc but no luck.ive done the reset with the button on the USB side of the charger and still doesn't work.

I have had the same problem and I ended up just putting my Fitbit in a draw and leaving it because I tried so many things to get it working. 

it would be great to know if I have missed anything.

I am having the same issue. I even purchased another Alta because I've had the original for several years now and the new one has the same problem.  Can you please help me before I return the new one as defective?
