Fitbit Alta screen is flickering

My Fitbit Alta has started to flicker between the screens. I tried to restart it by pushing the button from the charge 3 times, within 8 seconds, but with no luck. The device is not even restarting (the screen with the version is not showing). When the charger is plugged-in the screen is continuously changing between the charging screen and the logo.
