It has been one problem after another with this Alta HR over the couple of years I've owned it (mainly the shoddy build quality of the straps) but it has now become completely unusable.
I had a low battery warning last night, so charged it to full. Less than a day later, the dreaded exclamation mark appeared on the screen and within minutes it was dead. The app claimed the battery was "<2%". (Note that I didn't receive a low battery warning here.)
I plugged it in to my laptop again, reset it, and within literally a second the screen showed a half-full battery, and the app was showing 50% battery. It reached 80% over the following hour, and froze at that point. A further reset pushed it up to 95% instantly, and a short while later the screen showed full.
I took it off charge and synced the app. The last sync had been at 95%, and within 30 seconds of coming off the charge, the app showed 75%. Around an hour later and the app showed 35%.
What on earth is going on? It has gone from working fine to dying within hours!
In the time it took to write that message, it has dropped to 15%!
Plugged it in again, charged to full. Left the room as I was just about to go out. Came back to put it on and it was vibrating nonstop, and no amount of resets made any difference.
Built in obsolescence, Fitbit style! Disgraceful. Never again.
