I recently got a hand-me-down Fitbit Alta that is SURELY a couple of years old. The charger clips are broken and I taped it till I received a new one, but midway through charging with the damaged charger, it shut down. I was hoping it would just be the charger, but I have just received an "off-brand" charger today in the mail and I have left it to charge and it will not work. Do you suggest I keep it in the charge for some more time, perhaps a day or a couple of hours, or should I contact Fitbit to see what they can do?

Hi @zomeeta can you do a restart with that off brand charger unit? The Alta was retired a few years ago, so it's out of warranty. The life span varies on these devices and it also depends on how long the Alta was sitting with a dead battery before you tried to charge it. See if you can do a restart using the button on the charger - if it has one.

I cannot do a restart with the off-brand charger, should I find a way to do a restart with the old charger, although I have tried... It's a pretty old device, POSSIBLY from 2016/17. I already ordered new bands so it is quite disappointing!

The authentic Alta charger is available at the Fitbit online Store - click to see.

I’m having the same problem but even when I press the button on the charger nothing is happening mine has been dead for a couple months I’d say but it’s fairly new. Is there anyway you could help me ?
