Tried turning them off. Tried off, then auto. Every combination you could think of. Tried rebooting the watch several times. Nothing works. Called support and she just had me redo what I had already done. Then was passed along to a higher level of support and received an email to set to auto. it was already on auto. Am I out of luck? Sigh...

Since we are seeing here that your Alta HR's heart rate is set to "Off", we recommend to turn it on by opening your Fitbit app and following the steps below:
- Tap the Today tab
and tap your profile picture. - Tap your device image.
- Tap Heart Rate, and tap to turn the setting to Auto.
- Sync your device.
We also recommend to do the following:
- Tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist. For more information, see
- Heart-rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose-fitting. For best results, use the wristband that came with your device.
