Heart rate during exercise

My Alta HR doesn’t record my heart rate during tracked gps exercises. I’ll start my exercise on the app and it will track my steps , distance , route etc but no heart rate.  The heart rate data tells me there isn’t enough information 

 

I’ve updated the app, updated my iOS, deleted the device and re-paired and restarted the device from the USB cord


what’s the point of having the ‘HR’ if you can’t see the data ?
