Hi @DB70, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delayed reply.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Let me share with you that this specific feature it's not available with our Fitbit Alta because of the fact that this model is a fitness tracker and not a smartwatch. To learn more about your Fitbit and its features, please check: About Fitbit Alta
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Simply put, you cannot pair the Alta series with any sort of smart home device.

@DramaQueenDiva Considering it's not the actual device being paired (the device can only be paired with the Fitbit app) but instead the "service", it is very much possible to have Fitbit working with home automation.
Even with IFTTT (quite a simple automation solution), I could have a smart plug activate when I meet my calorie goal, which in turn could power on a big neon light celebrating the fact.
Simply put, there is more to Fitbit than the devices themselves. The device is just a small part.

@--Smeagol-- , first of all, I love your username (I love LOTR and even played Smeagol in a production of "The Hobbit").
Second, this is not possible, as this is not a service for this device that is currently offered by Fitbit. It's only offered on the more recent devices, such as the Sense.

@DramaQueenDiva Thanks, I love the Lord of the rings too. Unfortunately it will be the only thing we agree with in this thread.
The service in question is absolutely not device dependent, as it is using Fitbit Web APIs (I'm sure you are familiar with them). Our good friend @Rufous44 has been kind enough to provide the supporting documentation. Why would it have been written if it wasn't possible?
Let me simplify it a little for you. Your Fitbit device (any device) syncs to the Fitbit mobile app - the Fitbit mobile app then syncs the data to Fitbits servers - Fitbits servers send the data (using Web APIs) to Home assistance's servers - the data is then processed and then triggers a home automation routine or similar.
As you can agree (we may agree in this thread after all ☺) the above scenario is very possible regardless of which Fitbit device you are using. By the way this is exactly how your calories/steps are sent to 3rd party food logging apps (which works with all Fitbits), the situation here is no different apart from how the 3rd party processes and uses the data it receives.

Correct, but you will not be able to use all the features offered with the voice assistant and the Alta HR, like you would on the other models.

@DramaQueenDiva i hope you know that Home Assistant is not a voice assistant.

@Rufous44 yes, I do. I volunteer for Google. I also know that it has the voice assistant on it.

Home assistant has no voice assistant and Google has nothing to do with it.

I'm not entirely sure why we are discussing voice assistants here as the OP never mentioned needing to use voice (just data integration). Which is also the reason why what he is suggesting is completely plausible using a device without a Mic. Not all home automation needs to be active, it's quite possible (and effective) to use it passively.
We know the Alta HR hasn't got a microphone or access to a voice assistant, but for the sake of this discussion neither are needed (unless the OP specifically states he needs it).
I think the suggestion a little further up this thread is probably the best one (posting on the home assistant forum) as it seems this question is too technical for the users here.
