No Sleep Stages

My Alta HR stopped tracking sleep stages and just gave Simplified Sleep Details. I tried all the suggested solutions, but nothing worked.

I finally just got another HR and set it up. Well, guess what? I still only get Simplified Sleep Details. So clearly the problem is not with the Fitbit but with the app itself, or with the syncing process.

My question is: now what?? Does anyone have info on how to determine if the error is with the app or the syncing process?

I want the detailed sleep information and am experiencing a similar problem: so, far, on one night out of six the sleep data provided the "sensitive" info (i.e., deep, light, and REM sleep); the other five nights I only got the simple "asleep, awake, restless" info.  I tried adjusting the wristband from loose to a little tighter, but that didn't seem to help.  I'm currently in conversation with FitBit Reps for help: tried restarting the tracker—that did not work. I just went into settings and saw that "sleep" is set on the "sensitive" setting.  Yesterday, as requested, I sent FitBit a screen shot of the most recent sleep info; hopefully, they will have a solution!  I've thought about deleting the FitBit app and then downloading again, but will ask a rep if that is advisable.

Hi there! I had the same problem and also tried all the steps you have. I
even deleted the app and reinstalled it. None of those solutions worked so
they sent me a replacement Alta HR.

After installing and syncing it, I had the same exact problem: no Sleep
Stages and inconsistent heart rate monitoring. So clearly the problem is
not with the Fitbit itself but with either the app or with the syncing
process.

I am going to get back to Fitbit Support and let them know this; I assume
that this is a community-wide problem and that Support should be doing
SOMETHING to correct it.

Not sure how to determine if it’s the app or syncing process but I have had the same issue for about 2 weeks. I have had my Fitbit Alta HR for about a year with no issues with Sleep stages prior to this.  Yesterday I just shut Bluetooth off for about 5 minuets and then turned it back on. It did capture Sleep stages last night. Hopefully that continues to work.

I will add my complaint to the ones above. I purchased my Fitbit Alta HR this past May 22, so it is just over 2 months old. I have not changed any settings, nor the way I wear it. It has had sufficient charge during this period and yet my Fitbit Alta HR has begun acting weird the last few days. It registers me asleep when I am awake and has stopped tracking my sleep stages. Heart rate seems to still be monitoring, but I'm not sure it's accurate. This is extremely disappointing. I purchased this particular tracker because it tracked the sleep stages. I just did an update on the app. Hopefully, it is a glitch in the app and will be resolved.

My problem is practically a mirror image of Chrystallized38 except it's 6 weeks old.

For the first 5 weeks it worked perfectly, but now, having not changed Anything, it has stopped tracking my sleep stages - just blue bars. Also, the heart rate monitor has me 'at rest' when I'm not.

These items are not cheap and I certainly didn't expect to have these problems on my limited OAP. PLEASE Fitbit do something. (P.S. I also did a reset to no avail).

I have done the latest update for the app. Now my HR monitor is not working in real time on my app. This is really disappointing as I use this while I am exercising. Finger crossed these issues are being addressed and will soon be resolved.

I also turned off my bluetooth for a while, restarted my phone, and unpaired and repaired my fitbit. No improvement.

Hi!

I have discovered a strange solution/workaround to this problem. At least it works for me with my Alta and IOS app... 😜

I "rage-deleted" (😝) an entry being sick of sleep stages often and randomly not working. But then I thought "guess I should add the sleep again just to at least keep track of how many hours I sleep".

Low and behold; as I re-entered the sleep period, the detailed sleep stages magically appeared! 😀💤

I tried this just now even with a sleep period as far back as September 5th, and even that came up with detailed sleep stages when I re-entered it! 👍🏼😄

I have told Fitbit support about the workaround, I wish they might have published it as a temporary solution, because there are obviously a lot of us having the same issue... 😏

Wow your comment should be pinned and given as a solution for this problem by the mods! I did that delete/add process and got ALL my nights data, even for the night when I used 'Start sleep now' and it explicitly says when you do that it won't log sleep stages. Data even makes sense because I remember many nights and sometimes I woke up to receive a package and went back to sleep. Thank you so much, you did what no mod ever did for this community (reset or return your unit blah blah)
