Not getting heart rate when using Mobile Run

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Not a request for a new feature but one to give us back a feature that was available before July 28, 2019.

Fitbit no longer gives information on heart rate when using GPS by going to "Excercise" >"Track">"Run", "Walk" or "Hike". In order to get the heartrate status, we're having to use the Excercise Auto Detect feature.

Having the original feature is so muh more helpful. Please let us have it back.

I have an Alta HR.

Since I can't edit my request, I'll have to post again. Sorry.

Auto Detect Excercise doesn't give you mapping, only using GPS does. Currently using GPS doesn't give you heart rate information. I want this on the Fitbit app, that's why I bought a Fitbit with heart rate capabilities in the firt place.

Thanks again..

Hi @the3amigos thanks a million for your feedback.

The information that you've shared in your post is really useful. We're currently investigating this issues related to heart rate. Thanks for letting me know that you noticed this behavior when you're using Mobile Run from the Fitbit app.  Are you able to see heart rate when you're running or doing any other activity?

By the way, I've sent you a PM with some important information about your posts.

I'll be around.

Thank you for the inforation on editing a post, very helpful!

I see where my original post was fairly confusing.

I can see my heatrate on the dashboard as it changes throughout my walk but it doesn't record the changes under "weekly excercise" unless I autodetect the walk. Of course if I'm recording the walk using GPS, dashboad is unavailable.

If I use GPS, I get the recorded map but no record of how much time was spent in fat burn, cardio, or peak.

I want the capability back of using GPS and getting my heart rate (fat burn, cardio, peak) recorded for the walk. I want mapping and recorded heat rate stats. We had this feature prior to the end-of-July update.

I hope that was clearer and I apologize again for the badly worded first post.

I’m having the same issue. Trying to train for a half marathon so I need the GPS run recording mileage but the heart rate data was really useful too and now it’s not there. I get heart rate data for exercise auto detected but then I don’t have the mileage.

I found if I manually add an exercise after the fact and match start time and duration to my run, a new entry is created with the heart time chart, plus a bar chart with peak, cardio and fat burn times. It just does not get integrated to the tracked event.

weird. Oh, and it computes calories too, but the value differs from the tracked event even if the times are matched perfectly

It's been over a week since your reply. Is there any news? I'd REALLY like the feature back.

So, any information? ANY responses? Still unable to track GPS plus heart rate levels during the walk. We had it before, please give it back.

You've admitted it's a known issue, when can we expect it to be resolved?

Hello @YojanaFitbit ,

Few days ago I found out the same issue reported in this thread happens to me. Since your reply is dated many months ago I wonder if you have some information to share.

I'm wondering if this happens on all phone platforms.

I do. First off, Fitbit is clearly not interested in such matters, so give
up on them forthwith.
Second, there is a functional workaround. Once you complete a tracked
exercise for which you wish to see the heart rate line graph, create also a
manual exercise entry with identical start time and duration. A new
exercise will appear with the line chart. No gps/map or distance segments,
but the heart rate line with be there, along with peak and averages. And, a
calorie burn value that will not agree with the original exercise track.
But, you at lest get the heart rate information.

Why is this STILL an issue.

Previously worked, and then it just stopped.

Over a year and not fixed.

RIDICULOUS.

Has it been resolved yet? It's now 2021Q3 and I'm having the same issue. Please fix the issue ASAP

I doubt very much that this will be resolved to your satisfaction @jc999

  • Mobile Run is designed to be used when the fitbit tracker is not being worn, or when the user does not owtracker.
  • During the active time that mobile rum is being used, all data from the tracker will be ignored.
  • I'm not sure that asking your fellow fitbit users to fix this, would be the best way to have it fixed.
  • Currently this is working as attended and fitbit says that it is not an issue.
  • The feature request board is where ideas are submitted to the developers.
  • Have you added your comment and vote to the request?
  • Heart rate zones when tracking via MobileRun
