I am a female fitbit user and since I received my new fitbit I keep getting friend requests from men and find this disturbing, in the last 2 days I've received 5 requests, and have received more before that, was wondering if anyone else has been getting them.

Welcome to the forums!
Yes if they have no steps and show all female friends I immediately block them. Can only be done on phone. Tap the 3 dots in the upper corner and you will see Block
If on the computer just choose Ignore

This issue of unwanted friend requests by random guys is so old and so unwanted. Yes we can all just decline then block each one but why is the burden on us to do so? I wish we could simply hit a button that fends off requests by any person with a guy’s name. It is long past time for Fitbit to fix this. I do not know one single Fitbitter who welcomes random guys as friends. Even as I was typing this paragraph, I had another unwanted guy pop up. I’m a happily married woman with decades of time with my beloved guy. My profile says I welcome WOMEN as friends. What part of NO do they not understand?

I am a male fitbit user and can assure you that it's not just females being harassed by unknown people, I get plenty of requests from people claiming to be females wanting to friend up. I am fairly confident that they are just scammers fishing for personal information, so if the person is not in any competition with me, nor has a publicly available activity score near mine, I just ignore them. Sadly I have also withdrawn from all community groups, as that is where they harvest the contact information from. This appears to be a growing problem.
IMHO Fitbit should allow you to place filters on who can connect, such as gender and activity level.

Same here. And every single one of them with zero recent activity. Back when it first started (for me), it was a female who ended up asking me all sorts of personal questions in quasi-English. Ended up booting her, and have been more careful ever since.

I also suggest reporting their accounts.
It is only when they are reported that fitbit will be made aware of them.
BTW: men are not immune to woman sending X-Rated friend requests
Having a unicycle as my profile has drastically reduced these requests.
Others have simple drawings or charectors.
