Re-pair Alta HR without losing user data?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Alta HR wasn't syncing, and I made the mistake of removing the Alta HR from my Bluetooth device instead of following the troubleshooting steps first.

How can I repair it? When I try to pair it on Android it either does nothing or says "Pairing couldn't be completed because of an incorrect PIN or passkey".

I don't want to delete the device from my app as it tells me that I will then lose any unsaved data from the past few days.

How do I re-pair?

have you tried synching it to your computer/laptop? once you synch there, your data will be uploaded and then you can repair it to your android device. Just a thought., however, many peoploe have been having problems geting their device to pair since an android update back in September so be warned.

Hello @redirie Welcome to the Community Forums! Thanks for the troubleshooting steps you tried prior to posting.

@cats12188 Thank you very much for the input. Most Fitbit devices record detailed minute-by-minute data for 7 days. (Fitbit Alta records minute-by-minute data for five days). Fitbit devices can store daily totals for up to 30 days.

I would recommend giving a restart to your Android device and Fitbit tracker. For instructions about how to restart your tracker, please follow the steps here

After this, please open the Fitbit app and set up the connection again. You should receive a message asking you to allow your Fitbit device to pair with your phone. Tap Pair to approve the request. If you still have inconveniences for this, please follow the troubleshooting steps listed here:

Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes.
