Hi, I just got a secondhand fitbit from my mum as she now uses an apple watch. I reset it about 5 times now and downloaded the app on my phone and synced it with the app. However after a few days of using it I have noticed that I've been getting notifications from my mums phone. I tried deleting the app from her phone, signing her out, turning all notifications on the fitbit settings to off, removing Bluetooth permissions for the fitbit on her phone and turning off and turning back on both my and her phones. Weirdly on the Bluetooth settings the only thing on there is her new apple watch and no fitbit and the fitbit is no longer listed on the app. It has nothing to sync to.
I'm at a loss for what to do as I have been searching through the forums and believe I have tried everything and I'm still getting her messages.
Please help!

Update: we just tried turning off Bluetooth on my mums phone completely. Called it and I didn't get anything on the fitbit, but sent a text and received it on the fitbit!

Assuming you are near your mum's phone when this happens it means her phone's bluetooth is still paired to the tracker you now have. On her phone, go into bluetooth settings and unpair the fitbit.
I can't quite tell if you have tried that, but if so, go back and check again. It is in bluetooth paired devices, at least on Android.

I tried this and the fitbit is not on the list of paired devices. We even tried turning off Bluetooth completely and somehow I'm still getting messages 😕
