"0 Sleep Score avg" has replaced what used to show my weekly average amount of sleep per night. I have been religiously tracking my sleep for the years that I have owned my fitbit One. I travel for work and my sleep schedule shifts a lot, and keeping a weekly average has helped me tremendously. Now all of those averages that I've been counting on for years has been replaced by a "Sleep Score" with no explanation whatsoever. And this is apparently irreversible. On top of that, my Sleep Score (whatever it is), is zero for every week since forever, which I assume is yet another glitch.
One fitbit rep I spoke with told me that I "should have had a notification" about the change (I did not), and had no idea why my "Sleep Score" was always zero. Does anybody else have this problem?
Lastly, like so many others with the android app, syncing is nearly impossible since the new update. Fitbit changed my life when I started using and I thought I would be a customer for life, but now I spend a lot of time looking at Garmins online. I wasn't going to replace my One until it died, but this update may be the final straw. Anyone hear anything else from customer service?

Fitbit customer service is useless. Of course they would claim that the addition of this recent meangingless Sleep Score is irreversible. Equally obvious is that they are not telling the truth. The developers of the app could simple reverse these unwanted changed and we, the paying customers, would get back the info (average hours sleep) that we are actually interested in, not this artifical sleep score

It's especially frustrating because as far as I can tell, if you can't see the sleep stages you can't even get a sleep score. So it will display as 0 forever.
I'm okay with having fewer sleep features. I already can't see the advanced sleep information, that's fine. But my device was perfectly capable of tracking time asleep before this "feature" was added.

I'm looking into Garmins. Fitbit customer service is so ridiculous. Among the handful of responses I got from them were the same cut-and-paste phrases over and over again, as if they were answering my emails with a form letter. At one point they told me my sleep score was zero because I was sleeping poorly. Even though I have a fitbit one that of course doesn't track heart rate. They don't even bother to check the product they are responding about! Their customer service reps are lazy, their app developers are lazy too. They have designed this app only for people whose trackers track heart rate, and then forced everyone else to use it too, and then have no idea why we are annoyed. I've never interacted with a tech company who cares less about their product.

Even IF we ignore the fact that no one actually likes the sleep score function...
That still doesn't explain it always reading as 0 (mine does too) or why customer service can't be arsed.to reply on here. Shocking customer service.

Wow, so they "upgraded" me to an app that doesn't actually work with the product that I have?? I guess they I think that if they don't provide an app that functions with my current device, I'll upgrade to their fancier device. NO. When you yank away functionality from a product I bought, you can bet I'm never buying another one of your products!

Sleep score always 0
How to make it work properly

I spoke with a customer service rep and discovered the reason my sleep score was saying zero was that I was using the “begin sleep now” function which actually turns off detailed sleep tracking! Very counter intuitive! Do nothing but wear your Fitbit to bed and, at least with fitbits that have a heart rate function, it will automatically track and show your sleep stages and give you a sleep score when it syncs in the morning. That’s what I’ve done and I no longer get a zero sleep score. Hope this helps others!

Thank you this is so helpful! I can’t believe how counterintuitive that is and they should be screaming this at top of their lungs so everyone knows. I tried searching in FAQs on zero sleep score and nothing came up. Thanks for letting me know. I could’ve swore I manually started sleep mode and still got a sleep score the other day but maybe not. Going to pay closer Attention to it now
