How does this work. Chrome OS runs web based apps. The Fitbit app is not web based.
It sounds like your using a virtual machine, I'm asking because I've been thinking on getting a chromebook

Not sure how it worked, usually use my tablet, this morning (haven't been on chromebook since) I saw notification with sync option. When I clicked on it it worked, and yes my tablet was turned off. Will update if it works again. Never worked before so had uninstalled, last night reinsalled just for heck of it, didn't sync then, but did this morning.

I'm not sure how it worked, the Chrome OS does not allow apps to access BT connected devices.
Once the tracker syncs through a different device the chromebook will have access to all data.

If looking to use chromebook with fitbit I would forget it. I don't know how mine connected but hasn't since. That's all I know.

Chromebook is syncing sporadically, usually early morning or later in evening when everything is turned off. So take it as is.

As of 2017, you can run most Android apps on Chromebooks via the Google Play store.
