Adding my device to the app

I had my device synced with my app. It stopped syncing so i tried deleting the app and to install again. I ended up deleting my device but now I can't get it added back. It tells me to turn my device on but my device is already on and when I push the power button my stopwatch starts. Can anyone help?

Welcome to our Community @Jreep19! Thanks for joining us! Cat WinkI'd suggest you verify Bluetooth is enabled in your Android settings. Bluetooth also must be enabled within the Fitbit app. You can check this by tapping the menu button and selecting Device Settings.

Once you have verified the requirements above please try the following steps:

1. Reboot your Android device.
2. Uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app and try setting up again.

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes! Woman Very Happy

@MeylinP thanks for the welcome. My Bluetooth is enabled on my phone as well as in the app. As stated above I have already tried deleting and reinstalling the app. I will add I have uninstalled and reinstalled to the point where I lost all of my progress and badges I had earned. I didn't say it above but I already rebooted my phone as well.

The problem I am having is when I try to add the device the app tells me to turn on the fitbit device but I cannot turn it on as it is already on. So therefore when I push the power button my stopwatch just starts running. What I am trying to find out is if there is a way to turn off the fitbit device. Without just waiting for the device to run out of battery, which is what I am currently doing.
