All My Run Exercises Suddenly Lost Their Data

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been using Fitbit on my Google Pixel Watch 2 to record my runs for the past month.  Each time they have synced to my Fitbit app running on my Google Pixel 7 phone.  Up until today, they have all had marvelous breakdowns of the route I ran on a map, with heartrate and pace shown.  Also my pace broken apart by each leg in mile increments, a graph my heart rate, etc.

After my run today, I synced the phone app to my watch and the new run was added.  However, the only data it has is Duration, Cardio Load (always zero), and Zone Min.  Nothing else.

As I checked my past runs, all of the proper data would display and then suddenly disappear!  Leaving that past run with only those 3 stupid categories.  One by one, I checked my past runs and all of the important data just disappeared as I watched.

Nothing changed on my Pixel Watch or Phone.  Permissions did not change.  Location is enabled, the Fitbit app has location permissions.  All data was recorded and fine for a month until today when it all disappeared.  Any idea if there is a way to restore this information?

Hello @Laag640

There's an issue with Exercise data. I experienced this too, yesterday. It seemed to get fixed for me yesterday evening.

Some users recently reported that their exercise data returned. Other users reported their data returned, then disappeared again.

I suspect the issue is on the back end/server side. They are likely still working on it and it could take another day or so for everything to get fixed for everyone.

If I learn of any updates, I'll report back.

This is encouraging to read that I am not alone in this experience. I noticed after completing a 1/2 mille swim yesterday that was initially displayed accurately in app, the distance updated to 200 yards. Then I started looking at past days, weeks and months and everything had been significantly reduced.

Happened to me as well - the only exercise I can see in the app is from last Tuesday.... everything from the last 5 years is gone, including 3 exercise days after Tuesday.

Hello @hdimech @Dontneedauserna

I believe there is currently a problem on the Fitbit side. There have multiple users continuing to report issues with seeing their exercise data in the Fitbit app.

I looked at the Fitbit Status Dashboard website and saw that there was an issue with the Web API starting around the beginning of September. This impacts data syncing and may be the reason why we're having problems with seeing our exercise data in the Fitbit app. Even though the description mentions "3P" (3rd party) apps, the timing of when this issue started is about the same time that many of us started seeing issues with our exercise data in the Fitbit app. The current status is still showing the Web API issue as of today, 08 Sep 2024. So, they must still be working on fixing the problem.

Please continue to be patient. I'm checking the status daily. Since this issue has been on-going for over a week, I suspect the fix is not an easy one.
