Hi,
I have the Fitbit adidas ionic & a samsung galaxy s10e phone & since a fitbit update, I've noticed that the fitbit app is on all day sync but the button to switch it off has disappeared! I've logged into my profile to see if there is an option in there but no joy! I don't want all day sync on as it drains the battery! Anyone know how I turn it off?
Thanks in advance!
Jess

This is completely unacceptable. I've had all day sync turned off since I got my Versa because it killed the battery on my phone. Now that the updated app has removed that option, my phone's battery doesn't even last until dinnertime. can't turn off bluetooth because I have other devices that need to sync with my phone. When I check my battery usage, the Fitbit app is the highest usage of any app, right after the Android system and screen.

I agree. I not have to manually sync, and I don't care for it at all. Bring the button back giving us the option please.

I deleted the app and reinstalled. Wah-lah. It's automatically syncing now and does not require a manual sync. So when I exercise, I can see how many steps I've taken without having to count. Yippee!!!

Agreed. Unfortunately I'm going to have to uninstall the fitbit app because I need my phone more than I need my fitbit to sync I guess. But seems pointless to have spent on the money on my watch that I did now that I cant even use it how I got it for.

I'd like to let you know that we are always striving to improve the Fitbit experience with our products and services, therefore, the feedback that's shared here in the Community Forums is always appreciated and really helpful for us to evaluate our procedures and make sure that we are delivering what our users want and need.

Removing an option from users is definitely not the way to do things.
If you want to make All day sync on by default that's fine, but give us the option to turn it off.
My Charge 3 recently went from 6-7d battery life to under 48h.
This is ridiculous.

Seriously @RicardoFitbit ? Don't give us a marketing speech and start really listening to the people here. There are plenty of possible solutions in this thread, for this annoying problem! The fact is, your app is sucking our phone batteries dry. This is not acceptable! Fix it!

You think just because you say something it makes it's so. The only thing that changed is you removing the ability to turn off all day sync and now my watch battery doesn't last near as long. You saying it shouldn't make a difference doesn't change the fact that it does.

Guys calm down. Fitbit is now GOOGLE!!!!. Google hast to know all day where you are an what you do. They sell this information to anyone willing to give money for it, whether you agree or not. So the can't let you do the synching off. The only way is to go away from Fitbit.
A few days I bought my daughter an Ace2. This was not working right out of the box. As my Ionic has now only 6 hours battery life (and is 2y 2m old) it's the right moment to look for other solutions. I really did like the Ionic as I did like my Microsoft bands before. But nothing is forever.....
Let's see how long this text will be here 😉

@RicardoFitbit Astounding!
It does not change the fact that,
- the Charge 4 lost 30% Power within 24h
- my phone got discharged last night (7h sleep time) by 20% (!!). Just FYI, usually it is 4-5%...
Again! This is not acceptable! Yes, I'm getting it, Fitbit don't care for the customers. They already got the money...
Sad, that I wasted my money with this crap. Won't happen again! Without the app, the product is nearly usless.

I just downgraded the fitbit application to version 3.21 on my android phone, in that version I now have the option for "Always connected" - to which I've disabled. I'm using alta hr which is supposed to get upwards of a week battery life, but sometime around June it dropped down to about 36 hours.
I charged it to 100% today around 9am. I'm going to let it run down till it dies and see how long it lasts (just a day ago its been lasting a bit over 24 hours). I'll update here, before and after.

On Android, if you're rooted you can restore a backup of an earlier version with apps such as Titanium Backup. There are also websites that host older versions of apps. You can download the .ap k file and install it. You'll have to allow install unknown apps first.

You don't need to be rooted, if i'm not mistaken, to install an ap k. I should note, I have slandered fitbit in this thread, and it was not their application. It's been 22 hours, and my application is still running 3.21, and my fitbit is at 20% now. Come 24 hours, and 30-36 hours it will probably be dead again. I was reading in other posts, that you shouldn't be using a fast charger to try and speed up the process, and that this may damage the battery in the fitbit. You are supposed to use a 5v500ma usb charging brick. I have tried using fast chargers to speed it up, but that didn't seem to help, and I kept using them because from my understanding the circuitry in the charging device & charger are supposed to negotiate a charge voltage & amperage, and stop charging once full charge has been completed at the negotiated speed.
I can't recall when I bought the fitbit, do they come with a charging brick, or just the cable? Having the dedicated brick included would help to alleviate issues such as this if that's not the case - if this is an ongoing issue....
The older software has made no difference, unless the software is not doing what it says it's doing... i'll play with it a bit, and if I find anything untoward, i'll update, otherwise, i damaged mine, or the battery prematurely died.

downloaded ap k's can be installed without root.
I think I had a breakthrough today. I had just finished a hike and stopped
the workout on my Ionic, but when I pushed "end" the watch died. I lost
over half of the workout stats and now the watch won't even charge. Fitbit
just made the decision for me to switch to Garmin. Problem solved.
