I have the charge 2 and the heart rate almost always stops working when I'm working out and sweating. Is the alta HR having the same issues? I figured since it's thinner it might not cause as much sweat. If so I'm considering switching to the alta hr.

Thanks for stepping into the Forums @Mikigene!
To answer your question, the situation with the sweat and the Fitbit's HR sensor occurs because the sweat gets between the LED lights from the tracker and your skin and thus prevents the Fitbit from checking your blood vessels. A good idea is to clean it after a sweaty workout and to also move it up your wrist, as much as possible, so that it is tighter to your skin and thus gets a better reading even while sweating.
Additionally, I've known of users who use a sweat band next to the tracker (not over or below) so that less sweat gets in the way.
I hope you find this answer useful. Let me know if you have any further questions.
