Alta HR is not pairing with Pixel3

My Fitbit Alta HR was perfectly fine with pixel 3. I used to have occasional issues when Fitbit won't sync, but restart of Phone/Bluetooth was usually able to fix the problem. However this time when my Fitbit stopped syncing with my phone, i tried restarts a bunch of times, but it still did not work. So I decided to unpair and pair my fitbit again with my phone. But after I unpairing, I was never able to repair. I have updated the Fitbit app, used the Fitbit charger to restart Fitbit but no success.

When I try to re-pair on my phone using Fitbit app, my Fitbit device is able to receive the 4 digit code from my phone, but once I enter the code I see the error message after a few seconds asking me to try again. I have tried this several times with and without plugging my Fitbit to the charger and I don't have any other device nearby.

It sounds as if you did more than unpair from the phone @HB1989. I think you removed the tracker from your Fitbit account. Have you also inspired, removed the tracker from the phone's Bluetooth?

We still need to fix the sync issue so that the tracker can be setup.

I would start by clearing the cache for the Fitbit app, then unpair the tracker from the phone.

I unpaired the tracker from the phone, uninstalled the app, restarted my phone and Bluetooth a bunch of times. Even then I am not able to pair the Fitbit with my phone 😞

Following.

I'm having this exact problem, I have done all the same troubleshooting steps, and my Alta Hr still will not get past the 4-digit code. Since it receives the code and the app can tell me when I enter the code incorrectly, I know it *can* connect. It just doesn't.

I've also had a problem with my battery not holding a charge for even one day. I still use the original fitbit charger, and this problem only very recently happened even though I have had the Alta Hr for almost 2 years.

I too can no longer pair to the app after getting the 4 digit code.

Following as well!! I can't get it to pair either.

I've not been able to pair my Alta Hr since October 25 also. I wonder if it's a server issue. I get the four digit code. I've tried everything and it's getting really frustrating.

I know!! And when I contacted tech support, they just have me the generic
instructions then said it wasn't going to work and offered me a percentage
off a new one. While I appreciate the offer, I want the one I have to work
since I know it should be.

I also have the same problem. I've not been able to pair my Alta Hr since October 25 also.  I get the four digit code and have tried all of the restart steps recommended: deleted then reinstalled the app, restarted the phone, turned bluetooth on/off, restarted the fitbit, moved away from other bluetooth devices, etc. This is so frustrating!

Me too. Honestly it's a farce.

Same. It's terrible.

I'm having the same issue.  Yes in trying to fix mine I totally removed it from my account.  Now I'm trying to add it back as if it was brand new.  I then tried to pair using my blue tooth setting.  My phone sees it as a device to pair with but when I click connect if just spins on the connecting screen for hours.  How do I know this?  I tried.  I set it pair well I went about my business at work.   I just don't understand how I was able to see it and pair it and have my fitbit app see it and now suddenly it can't do that.  I would really like an explanation.  I'm thinking maybe I had an earlier version of android on my phone when I first set it up.  I now have android 11.  Could that be issue?  Why can't fitbit tell their customers that older fitbits cannot pair again to newer versions.  I never would have unpaired it the first place if I knew this was a possibility.

I also have the same issue.

Haven't used my fitbit for 6 weeks now ...

Tried to connect it to my laptop instead but can't see how I can connect it there. All the info 'have a new device to set up? click here' is made for connection with the app.

Very Frustrating.

I too have had this problem for a while. When it originally happened a few months ago, I tried everything previously mentioned to fix it but nothing has worked. Hopefully we can get this fixed.

Maybe since Google just bought Fitbit, they will come up with a better
solution. One can only hope!

Tons of people are having this exact issue. Don't waste your time with the normal troubleshooting people cut and paste or link you too.

FitBit has not acknowledged a problem. If you just bought it, return it and get your money back. You can waste your time with support, they won't be able to fix it and will offer you 15% off on a new device that will probably have the same exact problem.

You can get a new device to sync with - another phone or a PC or something... Or get a different tracker - Fitbit is fairly unreliable as you have already learned, or just sit and wait.

Maybe in another few months, they will silently did the issue while maintaining that all you needed to do was turn bluetooth off and back on again.

I figured as much.  It's too bad.  I've been with fitbit since 2013.  I think when my latest tracker dies.  I will move on to something else.

I downloaded the app for Mac's on my laptop and it still won't pair to the laptop either. Tired of fighting this issue with fitbit, moving on to another brand tracker. Shame as the app worked just fine on my Android 11, Pixel 3a before mid-December 2020 and now nothing.

Totally doing my head in. My Fitbit Alta HR will not pair with my Pixel 3a, but has paired with my Huawei tablet, however nothing has updated, they just recognise eachother is in a room. My Fitbit is useless, even as a timepiece! I tried telephone help and we were cut off near the start of the call. £140s worth of rubbish.
