Alta not syncing with Galaxy S4

Is there a way to get the Alta to sync with the Galaxy S4 phone? It syncs just fine with my laptop, but won't recognize it on my phone. Anyone else having this problem?

@Tomahrocks It's great to see you in the Community! It's weird that your Alta is not syncing with your Samsung S4. I'd like you to take a look at this post, which contains great tips that will help you to get this issue sorted out.

Thank you for the link to the troubleshooting.  I clicked the dropdown arrow under Android and here are the suggestions and my responses.  Nothing has worked so far.

  1. Close the Fitbit app and open it again. A sync should occur whenever the app is opened. Tried this and it didn't work.  Still won't sync.
  2. Turn off Bluetooth, turn it back on, and then open the Fitbit app. Tried this and it didn't work.  Still won't sync.
  3. If your tracker didn't sync, reboot your mobile device and then open the Fitbit app again. Tried this and it didn't work.  Still won't sync.
  4. If your tracker didn't sync, restart your tracker. Tried this and it didn't work.  Still won't sync. For more information, see How do I restart my tracker?
  5. If your tracker didn't sync, uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app. Tried this and it didn't work.  Still won't sync.
  6. If your tracker didn't sync, try syncing with your computer. I have no problems syncing with my computer.  It just won't sync with my phone.
  7. Try turning on all-day sync so that your tracker will periodically try to sync with the Fitbit app. Note that some customers find that this feature causes the battery on their mobile device or their tracker to drain more quickly than normal. Tried this and it didn't work.  Still won't sync.

download the Bluetooth LE scanner and connect to your device through that program and you should be able to sync

The bluetooth LE scanner worked for me. Slightly annoying to have another step for syncing, but it does the job.

I was having the same trouble...what I did was signed out of the app, rebooted galaxy s4, signed into the app, gave the app permission to turn on my Bluetooth, then added my device...but when I got to the connecting step I restarted my Alta hr by clicking the button on the charge cord three times in quick succession AND FINAlLY I was reconnected with my galaxy s4...don't know if that will keep it connected.  I had to reconnect it this way because it had stopped syncing and when I manually synced it, it said it couldn't find my Alta.  kinda of a pain hope it stays synced. 🙂
